Create a lead magnet on Squarespace

One of the ways you can make money with your website is to create a lead magnet on your Squarespace website. Imagine how you can get leads even when you're not working. People will get on your mailing list even when you are hiking or reading in the sunshine. How can you do that? You create an e-book, an online course, or a cheat sheet that you gift people in exchange for their email address.

You can always check what your competition are doing. NOT to copy but to get inspiration. Are you selling products and your competition doesn't have a lead magnet on their website, no worries. Stand out by creating one. Maybe you sell t-shirts. You can create a guide on how to style your t-shirts. Maybe you're a Virtual Assistant and you create Squarespace websites for your clients. You can create a video how awesome Squarespace is and how you can make money with a website you make for them.

The people who opt-in will go into your funnel and receive your newsletters so they get to know you and the amazing things you have to offer them.

Funnel? Opt-in? 

You probably subscribed to a lead magnet on another website so many times. You see something that is free and gives you a solution for a problem you have at that moment.

The form is an opt-in. When you fill out your email address you automatically receive an email with a link to the lead magnet you subscribed to and the days after that your receive more emails. That is a funnel. To make this work you need an email marketing system. Otherwise you have to do it all manually and you don’t want that. 

So there are different email marketing systems you can choose from. MailChimp is one, Active Campaign, and ConvertKit. Squarespace email marketing is called Squarespace Email Campaigns.

How to put your lead magnet on Squarespace

To put your lead magnet on Squarespace you need to create a Squarespace email opt-in form. You can place this form on your homepage, in blog posts, or on any other page you want. 

Besides that you can also work with a promotional pop-up. To work with this you need a MailChimp account or you need to have the Squarespace email marketing system Squarespace Email Campaigns.

What if you don’t work with those email marketing tools? 

You can still use a promotional pop-up but instead of using the version with the Subscribe button you use the Sales pop-up. There is one so you can’t miss it. The button on that pop-up will lead to a Squarespace opt-in page.

You can use the same page when you promote your lead magnet on your social media accounts or when you put your Squarespace lead generator in your navigation.
