How to make money on your Squarespace website

Making money, that’s what it’s all about right? You want to help people to improve their life or their business. You have the solution to a problem your dream human has. That solution can be a service or a (digital) product. In this blog, I’ll teach you how you can make money on your Squarespace website. I think Squarespace is one of the best DIY website builder with shopping cart.

Squarespace digital products

Do you want to sell digital downloads? An ebook or an audio file. All this is possible with Squarespace digital products. You can build your own Squarespace shop. Add a product to the shop: name it, price it, and upload the digital file. People will automatically receive your digital product when they buy it.

Squarespace physical products

Besides digital downloads you can also sell physical products on Squarespace. You can add products manually or you can upload a file with all your products. When you have a lot of products and/or multiple variations of one product I would recommend the last option. You can also easily migrate from Etsy, Shoppify, and Big Cartel.

With the product block you can showcase your products on your homepage. When people click on the product in that block it automatically goes in their shopping cart. Easy, right?

Squarespace Service

When you don’t sell a product but a service you can also add those to your Squarespace website. It's super easy. Squarespace has not only the possibility to add physical and digital products but also services. It’s not going to work if you work per hour but when you have packages or subscriptions this is just as easy to implement as when you sell products. You can even sell products and services in the same shop.

So if you want to make it easier for yourself go sell packages instead of billing your clients per hour.

You have to add your business PayPal account or your Stripe account to Squarespace and you can start making money.

Leads on Squarespace

Besides actual sales on your website, you can also monetize your Squarespace website by collecting email addresses. So your website isn’t a business card but actually letting your dream clients receive more of your expertise. People love to get free stuff so have a lead magnet on your site. People have to give their email address to receive your valuable lead magnet. Or they can subscribe to receive your fantastic blog posts or newsletters. Once you have their email address they’ll get to know you better via your posts or newsletters. 

Memberships & online courses

There is a new feature on Squarespace that makes it possible to sell memberships or have your online course on your Squarespace site. For a fee you can have one Member area, as they call it, or multiple Member areas. So creating your online course is made easier.
