SEO on Squarespace. Is that even possible?
SEO on Squarespace websites. Is that even possible? Yes, Squarespace has a great way to make sure you are high up in Google when somebody searches for the things you can help them with. Do you have to do this SEO thing? Yes, if you want people to find your website without knowing your business or your name.
So, what do you have to do?
Make sure your site has a meta description in place. With the site meta description, you can highlight what’s in it for the people you want to help. Use keywords that you know people will search on. But, and this is important, make it natural. Don’t just use keywords. Tell a short story.
You can find this in the Marketing part of your site. Write a short description between 50 and 300 words.
Besides having a description for your total site it’s also a good idea to have this for every single page on your website. Page descriptions add to your overall searchability and provide more opportunity to get your business in front of the right people.
Think of your ideal client when you write this. Try to imagine the types of things that they will be searching online for their business. Again, don’t forget the character limit!
You can add these descriptions in the settings of your pages. You know, click on the wheel and you see immediately where you have to be.
Make your images SEO proof
Give a name to your images. Google can’t see numbers, it can see words. It’s not difficult to change the name before you upload an image to your site. It will only benefit you. You can also speed up your website by making the size of your images smaller. Normally use a size that isn’t bigger than 1200 pixels.
With these little changes, your website will be easier to find for your potential customers. So, SEO on Squarespace websites is definitely possible.
