SEO on your Squarespace website. Is that even possible? Yes, Squarespace has a great way to make sure you end up high in Google when somebody searches for the things you can help them with. Do you need Yoast SEO Squarespace? Do you have to do this SEO thing? Yes, if you want people to find your website without knowing your business or your name.
Do you need the plugin Yoast for your SEO on Squarespace?
No. Yoast is a plugin that is used on the website platform WordPress to optimize your website. You don't have to add any plugins to your Squarespace website to make your website work. That's one of the best things about Squarespace.
SEO is not really my thing. I'm better at teaching you how to build a website. But I know a Squarespace SEO expert and she has a DIY course named Easy SEO. So do you want to optimize your website I would highly recommend this course.
How to add SEO on your Squarespace website?
Make sure your site has a SEO title in place. This is smart SEO Squarespace. Besides that you can add a meta description. You can highlight what’s in it for the people you want to help. Use keywords that you know people will search on. But, and this is important, make it natural. Don’t just use keywords. Tell a short story.
You can find this in the Marketing part of your site. Write a short description between 50 and 160 words.
Besides having a SEO title and a meta description for your total site it’s also a good idea to have this for every single page on your website. A page title and description adds to your overall searchability and provide more opportunity to get your business in front of the right people.
Think of your ideal client when you write this. Try to imagine the types of things that they will be searching online for their business. Again, don’t forget the character limit!
You can add these titles and descriptions in the settings of your pages. You know, click on the wheel and you see immediately where you have to be.
Make your images SEO proof
Give a name to your images. Google can’t see numbers, it can see words. It’s not difficult to change the name before you upload an image to your site. It will only benefit you. You can also speed up your website by making the size of your images smaller. Normally use a size that isn’t bigger than 1200 pixels.
With these little changes, your website will be easier to find for your potential customers. So, SEO on Squarespace websites is definitely possible. Without adding a plugin like Yoast.
