Your virtual assistant mentor for a business
that fits your life
(not drains it)

You know how the business world seems designed for extroverts?
The loudest voices get the most attention, networking events are a thing,
and showing up everywhere is the gold standard.

Yeah, no thanks!

When I started my virtual assistant business, I thought I had to force myself
to be that person. I tried the hustle. I tried the cold DMs.
I even tried (shudders) live video.
And all I got was burnout, imposter syndrome,
and a serious case of “Why does this feel so HARD?!”

You don’t have to play that game!

As introverts, we have a different kind of magic. We’re thoughtful.
We listen. We notice the details that make clients feel heard and understood.
And that’s exactly why VAs make the best entrepreneurs.

As your VA mentor, I’ll help you build a business that works with your energy—not against it. That means:
➵  Setting up your systems so you can actually unplug.
➵   Finding clients in ways that don’t make you want to crawl under a blanket.
➵  Running your virtual assistant business with confidence (without forcing yourself to be the loudest in the room)

Hey, I’m Marit!

Just like a big sis, I’ll give it to you straight

I’ll cheer you on, tell you what’s working, and call out what’s not—so you can build a business that lets you work on your terms.

My rocky journey from introverted
homebody to virtual assistant mentor

PROLOGUE (1998):

Burying my nose in books while my mom asked me why I was always home and not hanging out with friends. My introverted nature was soooo misunderstood back then, and I constantly felt like I was wearing a mask just to feel normal.

CHAPTER 1 (2017):

The year I decided to stop just existing. After years of burnout and unfulfilling 9-to-5 jobs, I picked up You Are a Badass by Jenn Sincero, dusted it off, and finally opened myself up to change.

It was the turning point where I knew I couldn’t continue living the way I had.

CHAPTER 2 (2017):

I saw an ad for a virtual assistant mentor and booked it all while my aunt was saying, “That won’t make you any money.”

But I didn't listen.

CHAPTER 3 (2017):
After completing the VA challenge, I took the leap. I hired a mentor to help me build my own VA business.

It was overwhelming, but I learned a ton, from systems to website creation, and slowly started to see my business come together!

CHAPTER 4 (2021):
Burnout hit again, but this time, I refused to let it break me.

I started automating my client onboarding, figured out how to do less client calls, and took out the parts of my VA tasks that were draining me.

CHAPTER 5 (2022):
My business was thriving. I never had to wake up to an alarm clock, which meant binge-reading until 2 a.m. without feeling anxious about “wasting time.”

I pay my bills, take trips, work from my couch, and never have to put on a mask or pretend I’m an extrovert.

EPILOGUE (2025):

The year I realized my true passion is teaching others.

What can I say, I’m a people-pleaser!

I decided to pivot to coaching and began helping new VAs set up their own businesses.

Will it work out? I guess you’ll have to stick around for part 2 of my series 😉

The cozy details of my life

Weekend Plans: Can you blame me if all I want to do is curl up with a good book, some fuzzy socks, and a lazy afternoon nap?

What Makes Me Happy: My dog, Nina!

My Cozy Comfort: Reading in my backyard (in The Netherlands!) while Nina runs around.

What’s On My TBR: We Are All Guilty Here by Karen Slaughter, All Folked Up by Penny Reid, My Midlife Magic Knight by Jennifer L Hart.

My Hot Takes: You don’t need to be perfect to start your own VA business. All perfectionism got me was a burnout.

Find Me Sippin’: A well-crafted espresso martini

My Fav Introvert Hobby: Backpacking solo (I backpacked in Australia in 2005!)

The Only Time I’m an Extrovert is When: i’m screaming at the TV watching sports 😅

Not sure where to start? I got you, babe!
