VA services: Setting Up an Email Marketing System for your client

Email marketing is a powerful tool to reach a target audience, increase engagement, and drive sales. It allows businesses to communicate with their subscribers directly and build a relationship with them over time. However, setting up an email marketing system can seem overwhelming, especially for small businesses that are just starting.

So, setting up email marketing systems is a great service to offer as a Virtual Assistant.

Choosing an Email Marketing Provider

The first step in setting up an email marketing system is to choose an email marketing provider. Maybe your client has a preference already and created an account for one. But you can also offer up your favorites.

There are many options available, including Mailchimp, Active Campaign, Convertkit, Flodesk, Drip, Mailerlite, Hubspot, and Moosend. When choosing a provider, consider factors such as pricing, ease of use, and the features offered.

Do your own research as a VA.

Building an Email List

Once your client has chosen an email marketing provider, it’s time to start building their email list. The best way to do this is by creating a lead magnet – a free resource that they offer in exchange for someone’s email address. This could be an ebook, a discount code, or a checklist. You can then set up their lead magnet on their website, social media channels, and other marketing channels.

You can also use pop-ups, landing pages, and opt-in forms to capture their visitors’ email addresses. Just make sure they comply with the GDPR and other data protection laws when collecting and storing personal data.

I don’t create lead magnets for my clients so I always ask them to provide me with their lead magnet and the content they want on their website, etc before I can go on.

Creating Emails

With the email marketing provider and email list in place, it’s time to start creating emails. Most email marketing providers offer templates that you can customize with your client’s branding and messaging. When creating the emails, keep in mind the goal of each email and make sure the messaging is clear and concise.

The emails should provide value to the subscribers, whether it’s in the form of educational content, promotional offers, or entertainment. You can also segment the email list based on the subscribers’ interests, behavior, or demographics to personalize the emails and increase engagement.

These emails can be newsletters that your client wants to send out, which can be part of your package as a virtual assistant. Your client sends you the content of the newsletter, and you put it into the system and plan it accordingly.

You can also create automations for your clients. For example, after a person subscribes to the lead magnet, they can receive a series of emails automatically, without you having to do this manually. The same applies to when people subscribe to a webinar/challenge or join a program.

Conclusion

One of the services I offer my clients is setting up email marketing systems. When I started as a VA, I didn't know what an email marketing system was, but I soon discovered that I enjoyed setting up systems for clients, and email marketing systems are one of those things.

Since email marketing involves continuous testing, analyzing, and optimizing campaigns, you can also offer this service in your package. This way, your clients can have the full experience. However, only offer this service if you enjoy doing these tasks.

One of the perks of being a Virtual Assistant. You decide what services you offer your clients.
