Marketing for Introverts:
A Complete Guide
We introverts have to consider our energy. When I just started my virtual assistant business, I started off posting on social media like a bat out of hell. Being online, doing all the platforms, and one day I just short-circuited. So I stopped everything. And that’s not what you want.
You need to market your business to grow. Because to be blunt: we can’t just hole up in our home and wait until clients come to us. That’s never going to happen at the beginning of your business.
But there is such a thing as marketing for introverts.
Marketing for Introverts: A Series
I’m that person who still hopes that her dream man rings the doorbell one day. Yeah, I know that will never happen, hahaha. But I love to stay at home, and I’m not a fan of the apps… those things are like having a part-time job on top of my two businesses. No, thank you.
I also felt like that with social media platforms. So, I really had to find a system that works for me. That is so important for marketing your business as an introvert. It took me a while to write this post. I just didn’t feel like it and waited until it poured out of me.
Because that’s the great thing about us. When we are in our energy, we can do soooo much.
Introvert marketing is finding things that you’re passionate about and waiting until you have the energy. It’s ok if you don’t want to post 7 times a week on multiple platforms, even though an expert says it’s best if you do that.
I’m going to give you some ideas on what you can do to market your virtual assistant business. You just have to see what feels good for you.
Introvert Marketing Option 1: website
You NEED a website when you’re a virtual assistant. PERIOD. Yes, that’s an excessive use of caps lock right there.
You’re an online business owner, and you need a space where potential clients can learn more about you and what you have to offer. Of course, they can find that on your social media, but you want a space that’s not so fleeting.
When you have a website, it’s also easier to start blogging. See the next marketing for introverts option.
My number one website platform is Squarespace. Before I launched my VA business, I had no idea how to build a website. But building my website with Squarespace helped a lot. It’s also one of the skills you learn in The WolfPack Membership. So, you can build your own website but also offer it as a service.
So, what pages do you need on your website? You need at least a homepage, service page, about page, and a contact page.
Also, put a possibility for booking a call with you on your website. For me, it’s the surest way to sign clients.
Make sure to have your keywords ready for writing your content. Because you want potential clients to find you via Google or ChatGPT.
Introvert Marketing Option 2: blogging
When you love to write, blogging is one of the best introvert marketing tools for your virtual assistant business. You can take potential clients on a journey about everything you can do for them. It’s also evergreen. Unlike reels, blog posts stay on the internet FOREVER. Oh wow, that sounds ominous, hahaha.
You can get new clients from blog posts you wrote years ago. When you’re going to use blogging as a marketing tool, you need to have a strategy. Just like with your website, you want to use the right keywords in your blog. So, when potential clients search for something that you solve on Google or with ChatGPT, your posts are being shown.
As a virtual assistant, you have so much to write about. And as an introvert, you can use your deep-dive and storytelling skills— and if you think you’re not good enough of a writer yet, check out this post from the absolutely fabulous Tiffani— to create amazing content.
Introvert Marketing Option 3: Pinterest
The most introvert-friendly marketing social media platform there is. And, I know, it’s not really a social media platform. It’s Google but way, way, way prettier.
When you blog and have a website, you can use Pinterest to drive traffic to your website. It’s also way more evergreen than other platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, or TikTok. This makes it ideal marketing for introverts.
Pinterest Management is also a great service to offer. It’s even better if you specialize in it so you can become the Pinterest expert people can hire.
Introvert Marketing Option 4: Social Media
Yes, this doesn’t really sound like a ‘marketing for introverts’ tool, right? But even social media can be for introverts as long as you choose your own path. You don’t have to follow the social media experts' advice with this.
What works for me is focusing on one platform and being consistent on that platform. Choose the platform that feels good for you. Do you love to write? Focus on Threads. Do you love to tinker with graphic design? Focus on Instagram.
Plus, social media is a way to be social without having to leave your couch.
I used to have a hard time coming up with content to write about. I don’t have that problem anymore. Everything I have done and learned in my struggle to come up with content, I put in my free training “The VA Content Creation mini-course”.
Because as an introverted virtual assistant, you have so much to talk about.
